We had 3 companies take a look at our HVAC when it stopped working. 2 "big" companies and also Commonwealth. The big companies both misdiagnosed the issue which would have cost us thousands. Commonwealth diagnosed the problem almost straight away and had the foresight to bring the correct part with them so it was fixed straight away. One company quoted us $2200 for something which cost us $700 with Commonwealth. Also they were super friendly and the owner himself did the work. I won't use anyone else moving forward. Read Less

I just wanted to take a moment to comment on Commonwealth Cooling and Heating and Morgan and Angel in particular. They set up my new Bryant unit flawlessly. Morgan was the senior staffer and Angel was the apprentice, but they seem to work very well together. Morgan is definitely on the younger side, but darn if he isn’t as crackerjack smart and gifted as his dad Brian, who’s the owner. They worked for 7 1/2 hours to get my old (21 year old) unit out and this new unit in and properly running. I don’t think they took a single break. This is a family-run business, the kind that you want to be connected to your HVAC needs and make sure that they succeed because they really want you to succeed as a homeowner. They genuinely want you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The professionalism and commitment to excellence of all staff (shoutout to admin extraordinaire and scheduler Casey) is unparalleled. Commonwealth installed the unit a week ago. Commonwealth was readily available and reasonably priced for a seasonal maintenance call. The technician arrived promptly at the beginning of the scheduled time window, and was thorough and courteous. I would work with them again without hesitation. Read Less

We had an issue with our furnace cutting out randomly, but only once a month or so. The first tech that came helped diagnose it as a problem with fresh air intake being inadequate and suggested cleaning the pvc piping to clear any potential blockage to be done in a follow-up appointment after implementing a temporary fix of simply leaving the furnace opened so fresh air from the room could enter. I took his lead and figured out that the exhaust vent waste (CO2, H2O) to outside was getting blown back into the intake vent when the wind came from a certain direction, choking oxygen and fresh air intake. The next tech that came agreed with the assessment and cleaned the vent and extended the pipe for the intake. Problem solved at a reasonable price (not cheap, but cheaper than some of the big players in this industry). Techs were on time and good communication from main office. Read Less
